Helios Laser Treatment Pre & Post-care Instructions

Helios laser treatment is a revolutionary skincare solution designed to address a wide range of skin issues. It targets conditions such as pigmentation, dark spots, sun damage, melasma, age spots and early signs of aging. Its high precision makes it suitable for sensitive skin or clients with complex skin concerns.

Before the session

  • Sun Protection: Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning beds for 5-7 days prior to treatment.  Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 35 or higher to protect your skin from the sun. Remember to reapply every two hours and wear protective clothing and a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors.

  • Self Tanners: Do not use self-tanning products or undergo any self-tanning treatments for at least 14 days before the procedure. Avoid using any self-tanners for at least one month after treatment. Any residual self-tanner must be completely removed before the session.

  • Skincare Products: Do not use any retinoids, exfoliants, or harsh skincare products on the treatment area for at least one week before the treatment. If you have had a chemical peel, wait at least one month before undergoing this treatment.

  • Oral Medications: Inform your laser professional about any oral medications you are taking, especially those known to cause photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to the sun).

  • Hydration: Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment to support your skin’s healing process.

  • Makeup: Arrive at the appointment with clean, makeup-free skin, as makeup can interfere with the treatment process.

  • Skin Condition: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any active skin infections or outbreaks, as the treatment may need to be rescheduled to ensure optimal results.

  • Avoid alcohol: Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the treatment to reduce the risk of skin irritation.

After the session

  • Avoid direct sunlight for at least a week: UV exposure can cause pigmentation issues or delay healing. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF of at least 35 to protect your treated skin from harmful UV rays and wear hats or protective clothing when outdoors.

  • Hydrate your skin: Drink plenty of water and use gentle moisturizers to keep your skin hydrated. This helps aid the healing process after Helios laser toning.

  • Avoid harsh skincare products: Steer clear of products containing retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs as they can irritate sensitive skin post-treatment. Retinol and low percentage aha bha can be used 5 days after treatment.

  • Refrain from strenuous activities for 24 hours: Avoid activities that cause sweating, as this can irritate the skin. Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms to prevent redness and irritation.

  • Do not exfoliate for at least a week: Scrubbing too soon can damage the treated skin and slow recovery. Use cool compresses if you experience redness or swelling.
